Emilie Collyer lives in Melbourne. She writes plays, fiction and poetry.

Theatre awards and shortlistings of note include: The Good Girl (Best Emerging Writer Melbourne Fringe 2013), Dream Home (shortlisted Edward Albee Scholarship 2012 and the Patrick White Award(2013), Promise (George Fairfax Award 2000, Highly Commended Patrick White Award 2000), Argonauta (Young Playwright’s Award 1997).

She’s been commissioned by many companies including MTC, Big West Festival and ABC Radio.Emilie’s plays have been produced by ABC Radio National, La Mama, The Victorian Arts Centre and St Martins among others, and she has developed work with and been supported by Melbourne Theatre Company, Playbox, Australia Council, Arts Victoria, Ian Potter Foundation, Varuna Writers Centre, ANPC and Playworks. She is a founding member and regular writer with live arts company Punctum.

Her prose writing has won and been shortlisted for numerous awards including the 2012 Scarlet Stiletto 2nd overall prize and twice winning the cross-genre category prize (2012 & 2013). Her short stories have appeared in the anthologies Cosmic Vegetable (USA); Scarlet Stiletto: short stories 2013 (AUS); Thirteen Stories (AUS);and many other publications including Kill your Darlings, Cordite, Blue Dog, Torpedo, Trouble, The Big Issue, The Australian Book Review, among others. She published an illustrated book of poetry Your Looking Eyes in 2011.

Emilie works as a copywriter, has a background in acting and improvising and also teaches creative writing, impro and drama. Emilie is a graduate of Professional Writing and Editing Diploma at RMIT and Masters in Writing for Performance at VCA, University of Melbourne.
